Montrouis is a small fishing village located approximately 45 miles north of Haiti's capital of Port-au-Prince. Many Haitians in villages like Montrouis still continue to struggle with making enough money to support their families. During a recent trip, Team Flying Scarfs met two remarkable women, McKensie and her cousin, who create detailed artisan crafted baskets. Each basket is intricately painted to reflect the tropical beauty that is Haiti and can be used either as a handbag to the grocery store, office or beach. We are proud to have provided a microloan to these two strong women.
